FEMALE PERSPECTIVE :
SCRIPT
Interviewer: are video games more male or female dominated
Interviewee: yes i feel like it is more male dominated than female dominated space because it more male appealing and they use alot of social constructs to over- sexualize female characters in the game.
Interviewer: so your saying it’s more of a social construct issue
Interviewee: yeah! I feel like the discrimination in gender gaming is routed to the past as males are grown to play sports and females would do less masculine things like playing with dolls
Interview: how can we combat this social construct issue
Interviewee: making the video games more gender neutral, creating a video game that has both a male and female character and creating alot of equality
MALE PERSPECTIVE
Interviewer: what gender do you recognize as
interview : i’m a straight male
Interviewer: are video games more female dominated than female dominated
Interviewee: definitely more male dominated… females are the minority in video games
Interviewer: Do you feel like its the social construct we have in life
Interviewee: Yeah I feel like men are more exposed to it, if you think about the early days of video gaming it was just a bunch of guys hanging out in their basements as that was seen as very uncool that’s why I guess less girls are into gaming.
Interviewer: how can we combat this social construct
Interviewee: i don’t know make video games more appealing to women, because i see video games are more appling to guys than girls for example COD and various fighting games are things that guys would be social more interested in
